How to Repair Non-slip Tape

Although the entire tape can be replaced, most of the repairing is done on a damaged spot such as the one shown in the picture below. To do it by yourself, you would need new replacement tape that comes in sheets and a box cutter.

Damaged spot on tape
Cut around the damaged area with a box cutter.  Use a glass cup as a guide if possible. If not, a ruler would do it.
Peel off the old tape.
Old tape is removed around the damaged area.
Cut from new tape. Use the same guide (glass cup, ruler, etc.).
Peel off the paper backing from the newly cut tape.
Patch the self-adhesive tape onto the aluminum. Trim off edges if needed.
